Konichiwa Bitches!

Lupe's new outfit Japanese Cartoon bring some politically aware cartoon punk for ya ear...oh and word through the grapevine is the L.U.P.End project has been abandoned and he's working on some disgruntled high school outcast themed LP called "Lasers", so keep an eye out. But in the mean time in between time...

  1. phew, thank God he ditched that. "hip-hop solo artist records triple album" has turd sandwich written all over it... but isn't dude a little old for sub-Linkin Park teen angst?

  2. Pharrell wasn't, he made "fly or die" at like 40...in the words of the venerable Aaliyah "Age ain't nothin' but a number"..unless you are subpoenaed of course.

  3. true say. plus half of Lupe's songs have been about teens skating/toy shopping/suicide bombing/watching TV etc, so I guess that is his comfort zone. perhaps he should make LupEND a trilogy of EPs, with a 3 act arc... kinda like a comic book run. internet-only, to minimise the risk of epic failure.

where can Pharrell possibly take his music career after Seeing Sounds? NERD aren't fresh anymore and the solo album was all over the place (apart from "Number One", which was a masterpiece!)... as a producer, can anyone (except Nigo) afford him anymore? and when was his last hit? heard he might produce the Voltron OST, so maybe he'll morph into RZA.

  4. Yup...that may possibly be his only feasible avenue. Either that or pull a Rick Ruben and only pop up on some obscure shit.

  5. nah, Pharrell needs to maintain visibility so he can keep his "brand" strong. keep the hipsters running back for more limited edition, overpriced snazzy garments. speaking of which, isn't it about time his fellow septuagenarians (great word) Puff and Jay dropped albums to get that *Ron Browz auto-tune* "Livenation money"?
